How Hayaland grades, tests, and describes the inventory sold on Hayaland Auctions.
Every lot on this marketplace carries a grade based on Hayaland's standard grading system — the same ladder used across Hayaland Store and Hayaland BuyBack. Grades describe the cosmetic condition of devices; functionality is verified separately through inspection (see below).
Because this is a wholesale marketplace, grades apply per lot: a lot's grade reflects the overall condition mix of the units it contains, and the manifest lists the expected breakdown. Individual units within a lot may vary, and a variance of up to 5% in unit count, declared value, and/or condition mix is permitted per our Buyer Terms. All inventory is sold as-is, where-is.
Unopened items, or opened items that have never been used. Opened units may have been powered on once for functional verification only.
No visible signs of use. Scratches are extremely minimal — indistinguishable from new at a glance.
Light scratches may be present, but overall wear is minimal. Clean, well-kept units.
Units with regular use behind them: visible scratches and everyday wear, more noticeable than A Grade, but well within normal used condition.
Heavily used units with numerous noticeable scratches and possible paint wear or chipping. Fully usable, cosmetically worn.
Units with chips, screen burn-in, or non-genuine replacement parts. Minor damage or defects present. Sold for value-conscious resale or refurbishment.
Units with cracks, malfunctions, or other conditions preventing normal use. Sold for parts harvesting, repair stock, or recycling. No functional expectations.
Functional testing — Phonecheck. Hayaland inspects devices using Phonecheck, the industry-standard diagnostic software used by carriers worldwide, running a 60+ point functional test covering battery health, device locks (MDM, iCloud/FMiP, carrier), ESN/IMEI status, jailbreak/root detection, biometrics, sensors, cameras, connectivity, and more. Where indicated on a listing, lots include Phonecheck diagnostic verification.
Data erasure. All devices are processed with certified data-erasure tooling so no prior-owner data remains.
Lock status. Listings and manifests state carrier lock, FMiP/activation lock, finance lock, and blacklist status where applicable. Unless a listing states otherwise, devices sold on Hayaland Auctions are activation-lock free with clean IMEI.
Cleaning. Units are cleaned with dedicated tooling, including alcohol disinfection, before shipment.
